Josh Polley’s journey into construction began at age fifteen, working as a helper with a remodeling company owned by a Lexington, KY firefighter. Even then he knew that construction was a fit for him. He sought initial training through his local high school, completing two years of vocational carpentry. Upon high school graduation, he began his journey as a residential carpenter. Through his experience, he had the opportunity to work for several different companies, during which time he was able to hone his skills in carpentry and construction techniques. Eventually, Josh was approached by a co-carpenter with the idea of partnering to develop their own construction company. As many entrepreneurs know, starting a company is not easy. Sadly, this first adventure did not last. However, Josh retained the friendship developed with his partner. During this time Josh would meet the love of his life, Shauna. They would eventually marry and begin their family. While dedicating his life and heart to his family, Josh would venture away from carpentry and pursue other career paths. It was at this time Brad, Josh’s brother, would recommend firefighting. After much prayer and consideration, he applied and was accepted into the Nicholasville Fire Department.  Even though Josh immediately fell in love with the fire service he never lost his love for construction. Due to the unique structure of the fire department’s schedule, he was able to pursue that once again. Unofficially he created a new construction company, Handyman Services. Through this he served a multitude of customers with interior and exterior remodeling, building furniture, framing various structures, and many more construction projects.  

In this same season, Josh and Shauna were rearing a growing family. They purchased their first house in Jessamine County. This ranch style house, built in 1964, had been neglected for several years. They knew a lot of work had to be done to turn the house into a home. Nearly everything needed to be replaced or updated. Through the renovation process it quickly became apparent they could not do everything by themselves. It was time to hire help. As they hired subcontractors for various aspects of the renovation, the reality of the construction world came into view. Good help is VERY hard to find! He and Shauna struggled to find contractors who held Josh’s strong belief in quality, craftsmanship, and good customer service. Even getting contractors to show up when they said they would, was next to impossible. This experience left Josh with a burning desire and call to action. The people in this community needed a construction company that would hold craftsmanship in high esteem and provide good customer service. It was at this moment the idea was born in his heart that would eventually become IHM.

When Josh began to develop the idea, he wanted to fix the problems within the industry. His passion was to develop an alternative company clients could trust… a company which would communicate…a company which would do what clients asked them to do and do it well. 

In 2019 Josh established his first LLC company, Integrity Home Maintenance (IHM.) Praise God, the company was an immediate success! As demand grew for his company’s services, so did the need for more hands to craft the work. In the beginning Josh and Shauna, with the help of their older children, would all come together to see projects through. As much as Josh loved seeing his family work together, he realized the need for a permanent solution. Over time he would hire a staff of like-minded craftsmen to join the company. One by one the company grew. It was during this time that IHM’s design and execution grew exponentially along with the capability to handle a multitude of different types of jobs. The company became known for excellence, executing whole house renovations, home expansions, layout redesign, beautification of outdoor spaces and interior upgrades. Josh realized the company had even outgrown its original name. No longer were they providing maintenance to homes; they were remaking them. Integrity Home Makeovers began. 

The needs which Josh and Shauna had identified as young homeowners became the values of Integrity Home Makeovers (IHM.) The sum of all that had made those early home projects unenjoyable, became the anti-standard for IHM. As a result, Josh and his staff are committed to these values: integrity, honesty, craftsmanship and excellent customer service.

Josh knows that he owes his success firstly to the patient love and guidance of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,  and secondly to the love and support of his most faithful friend, his wife Shauna. Together Josh and Shauna have been blessed with six children: (oldest to youngest) Kayla, Timothy, Sarah, Ashley, Samuel and Joseph. Through his journey as a husband and father Josh has learned the value of serving with integrity. He has taken that value and crafted the heart of IHM.
